The last few days I've noticed that my Goniopora wasn't really extending very much at all, just maybe an inch.
It used to extend about 5-6In.

So last night, I got the flashlight out, and saw this worm wrapped around the base of it. It would have probably been 6 Inches or so stretched out, very skinny.

Is this a bad guy or good guy?
I'm hoping that it's a worm not to worry about, and that it's just currently annoying the Goniopora.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Could be a peanut worm. I have one that looks similar but not as large. Link for worm ID, peanut worms are under article #2. And it could be a bristle worm as posted above but they never seem to bother my corals enough to keep them from expanding.

I would try and remove it. I can't tell if it is good or bad from the pics. Put it in a container with tank water and them take another pic. Wear gloves while doing it if it is a type of bristle worm.

Does it have antenna? Does it retract fast when startled?

It didn't look like it had antennae, just the round ends at both sides.
I shined a flashlight on it for about 5 minutes, and it didn't really hide at all.

Just kind of slither around in a circle.
I've also seen a few flatworms on this same coral.

I'll see if it's there tonight. Just use like a tweezers or something?

The photos in the hitchhiking guide are almost too closeup to tell.

It's probably not a Eunicid. They have antenna and move really fast. If it's just hanging around and has no antenna it may be one of the harmless types of bristle worms.

Still try and remove it to get a positive ID.
