I've got this one ricordea mushroom, not on a rock or anything. I had it glued for a few days but it came loose. I had it in a small cup in the tank with sand and crushed coral for a couple weeks and it wouldn't attach then one side started to look dark so I got it out of there. Now it's glued again to a small rock but probably not for long.
If I just stop messing with it and let it drift in the tank will it find it's own spot or die? Im worried about it flipping upside down but if I keep gluing it, I'm gonna kill it. Any advice?

i normally put it in a small container with holes in it (to allow good flow) with crushed coral or rock rubble. I cover the container with bridal veil and leave it for several weeks. Usually by that time the ricordia has securally attached to the rock/coral and I then can go ahead and glue it where i want it. Probably you were getting dark edges because the ricordia wasnt getting enough flow without the holes

the other option is you can actually loosly rubber band it to the rock you want it on. Try to avoid the center of the ricordia with the rubber band, and make sure the rubber band is tight enough to hold onto the ricordia, but not too tight to cut into the tissue

Majority of the time I do the bridal veil trick. Just have to be patient

I've always had good luck with rock rubble in a bowl. But like mentioned above works well to!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
It's not going to attach in a few days, it can take weeks in a container of rubble. Basically it takes patience.

I have also let mine float around the tank until it finds a spot but they usually end up somewhere you can't see them. The cup with holes work and bridal veil. It just takes time sometimes for them to attach.

It is frustrating. Even after attached there is nothing to say it wont get up and move one day anyway. I had Ricordea in a spot for 8months and then one day GONE. I left it be and it attach to a snail shell on the back of the tank that I then put where I want it.

Also my blue mushroom walked off its little rock that I glued it to after a couple weeks. Left behind 2 babies though and I just found the original the other day and tucked it into a crevice.

Good luck, easy to care for but a PITA to place lol

I just finally put mine down on the sand....hoping they will attach there....they do seem to like to float around even after it appears that they have attached...
