    Please meet Lou

    Hi Guys,

I was looking for recommendations as to what would be a good sand sifter and decided on a diamond watchman goby. I ordered one online since my LFS didn't have one. It came last week and he immediately went to work. He had a nice hiding hole dug in the first five minutes right in the center of the tank. He has just recently taken to target feeding. I must say that it has been a challenge. I have been trying to hide some food in the sand for him to find, but my crazy nassarius snails would come running and find it before he could. He seemed interested and hungry today, so I aimed the food toward him instead of the sand. And once again, here come the snails. It was so bad that he was taking them in his mouth and spitting them out into the tank. I hope that he will realize when it is feeding time and come eat with the rest. I still have my egg crate on even though I have yet to see him 6 inches above the bottom. Anyway, thanks for the recommendations. He is now my second favorite (behind the hippo). He is a hard worker and not shy :) Enough words...and onto the pics. Thanks!!!

    Ivy

Those gobies are fun to watch;D The snail spitting is halariouse.

By the way your LR looks very nice.. I like the look of the more rounded pieces . Its very different and really makes your tank stand out nice , Along with Dory and the other fishy's too.

Thanks for the kind words. I was starting to worry about him not eating. I have heard stories that these fish are prone to starving and didn't want that to happen. I guess he just had to be hungry enough to do something about it. I am still not crazed over my aquascaping, but I think that it was the best that I could do with what I had. The fish seem to like it :)

    Update 10/12/09

    Hi Guys,

I thought that I would give a little update. The diamond goby was never seen from again and I still miss him. I also added some corals and they are growing very well. I can now see that the xenia is going to get out of hand fast. I am going to have to learn to frag pretty quickly. It has grown off of the plug and has started two new "roots" on the rock. Thanks!!!

    Regards,
    Ivy
