Wonderful tank, man. What kind of dwarf angel is that? It's a beauty. I hope it is doing better.

Props on the aquascape, btw. It looks awesome.

    Thanks everyone!

My filtration only consists of a protein skimmer and two reactors with carbon and GFO in them. I use an HOB overflow with a hofer stand pipe. The hofer standpipe was a pain to make since I had to sand out the inside of the bushing manually (don't have a dremel), but it is really quiet. Definitely worth the extra effort.

My sump is a 20 gallon tank (24x12x12). I use a mag9.5 pump. There are two reactors (hard to see) hanging on the skimmer chamber with RowaPhos and carbon. The far right chamber may be a refugium some day. Right now I'm just keeping a nano koralia in there to keep it from getting dirty. I know it's not exactly a huge refugium section, but it's purpose is more to split of the second part of the sump to reduce the volume of the pump chamber... the volume of the pump chamber is less than the extra volume the display tank can take. So if the HOB overflow fails, I won't have a flood.

I'm thinking of switching out the RowaPhos for biopellets at the end of the month, since I'm out of RowaPhos and they cost roughly the same long term.

I feel exactly the opposite sometimes haha. I would love the height of a 65 gallon tank.

    Thanks!

It's a Potters angel, endemic to Hawaii.

How are you running GFO and Carbon? I've been ltrying to find a system that would work well for my 29g Nano (think it'd help with filtration and water quality) but haven't really seen anything nor do I really understand how they work well enough to go ahead and buy something

Lol, until you realize you have to go up to your armpit to reach the bottom of the tank!

Sounds like my angel fish tank, such a pain in the butt to vacuum that sand bed and adjust any plants that are messed with or need pruning! Sometimes you even have to get your shoulder wet. Next best thing is just get a mask and a snorkel!

Lol after thought... You know how they say feed your fish as much as they will eat in 2 minutes? I haven't found that amount for these guys yet without clouding up my tank full of food! They will eat everything you throw their way -- such spoiled fatso's!! Lol

I have two, Two Little Fishies Phosban reactors running in series with a small maxi jet 400 water pump. The first one contains carbon and the second GFO. It isn't ideal since the flow rate through the GFO needs to be fairly slow, while ideally the carbon would have a higher flow rate. It still seems to work alright though.

I just sold my bike and am thinking about buying a Vortech MP10 or 40. I may upsize this tank to a 65 or 90 in the next couple of years. Which Vortech would be best? Right now I'm thinking MP10, and then just getting another one if I upsize.

Two Mp10s, one on either end of the tank. If you're getting a 90, you may want to get an mp40 and get a second one when you have the extra cash.
