    Thanks!

I will post some pictures of the electrical/computet set up once I organize the cords a bit.

    Some more pictures...

Temperature is set at 73.5 F for seahorses. The pH, conductivity, and ORP probes have not been calibrated, so I would take these values with a grain of salt. I'm just happy they are giving reasonable values since the probes have been in storage for about 6 months.

Q-tank, also at 73.5 F, all live stock seems to be doing fine. I actually like the algae, but I will kill it off with hydrogen peroxide prior to putting this rock into the tank so it doesn't get out of control.

I bought a AquaRay Mini500 HD for my refugium. I think it is 12 W. So far I'm loving it! It is a very white light and should be great for growing algae. Very sleek looking fixture and decent deal at $110 CAD.

It is still early, but I'm finding the Kessil a350 washes out the yellows/reds/greens a lot compared to my old AI Sol. The Kessil is a very blue light IMO, even with just the white channel on.

I took some PAR readings on the Kessil A350 this afternoon.

    - These are PAR readings for the non-wide Kessil A350 3" from the waters surface with both channels at 100%.
    - I turned the MP40 off to limit surface agitation, but kept the return on to keep the surface clear. The return lines to not agitate the surface much.
    - I used a long pair of tongs to hold meter.

Since the light is so close to the water surface, the readings 1" below the surface and 5" to the side of the light are quite low as the PAR sensor was on the outskirts of the light beam.

Higher readings at 17" than 8.5" below the water surface at 5" to the side are probably due to the beam width. At 8.5" below the surface the PAR sensor was probably close to the outskirts of the beam, whereas at 17" the PAR sensor was more towards the beams center.

Overall I am impressed with the PAR readings, and am confident there is enough light to grow sea grass at the bottom of my tank. I'd like to raise the light off of the water more, however it is difficult to do that and still have the light close to the center of the tank due to the length of the Kessil mounting arm.

I transferred all live stock from my Q-tank yesterday. I'm taking a bit of a risk with a clam and sea horses, but will take it out quickly if there is a problem. A lot of people have had no issues with the combination.

I also added a bottle of tigger pods last night, hopefully that will start a copepod population in the tank. For some reason I'm not confident it will work.

    Parameters:
    Salinity: 32.5 ppt
    pH: 7.9 - 8
    Temp: 73.5 F
    Ammonia: 0 ppm
    Nitrite: 0 ppm
    Nitrate: 5 - 10 ppm

Next week I plan on adding more macro algae, probably Halimeda spp.

The diatoms bloom seems to be tapering out. They were much worse a few days ago. I used a custom white balance for this photo, the tank is much bluer in person.

Tank looks amazing. Love the look and sleekness of everything. Do you have any horses yet?
