    There is no color interpretation on the calcuim kits, unlike pH, nitrate, ammonia, etc. It's either pink, or turns blue at least on the API kit. I heard a story of one those Ca meters that fluctuated back and forth over 50 ppm and it never worked right.

    Bogie, I would be more then happy to continue this conversation. But LaMotte Calcium kits work with color indication based on when you interpret the color to be Royal Blue (wich could be any range of drops) and the API kit measure blue but only has increments of 20 ppm. Bottom line it's useful for me and I like spending money, whether someone believes it was worth it or not. At the end of the day it still comes from my bank account. ;D
