don't rush! I know it's hard not to - but it is so much better to let the cycle have its time. The bacteria will definitely help but it's best to let the process take a little time

Oh no definitely not rushing. Just coming to a estimate of when it would be finished. I am being patient and waiting until it. Completes.

I figured you weren't but just thought I'd say it :) I'm excited to watch your progress! One of my favorite things in this hobby is watching a newcomer get the bug and convey their excitement!

Nothing better than the reef bug in my opinion.

So I work extremely long hours. Sometime up to 20 hours a day. So I don't have too much time to sacrifice to things such as filling up the freshwater reservoir that I thought would be sufficient to make provide freshwater to compensate for evaporation at least for one week. Unfortunately I greatly under calculated how much freshwater I would actually need so I needed to make an on the fly design change.

So I went from a 1 gallon reservoir to a 16.5 gallon tub to store my freshwater. Now I'm able to make it with through the week with more than enough freshwater to top of my aquariums evaporation. I'm considering relocating the reservoir to another room adjacent to the aquarium but I will have to address some additional issues such as wiring and tubing to extend the standard Tunze pump connections to reach the other room.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Yup if you can go bigger with the reserve, as you did.

Working long hour myself, you got to think automated.

I had to replace my ATO Tunze pump about a week ago, I think there was a bad batch because the replacement works much better than the original.

Keep up with the good work.

Definitely will do. Tunze has always been rock solid in my opinion.

I just received my replacement Temperature Probe for my Neptune Systems Apex Aqua Controller yesterday and had a few minutes to install it. The temperature reading came back and well I can't say I was surprised. Above 80 degrees Fahrenheit. So I decided to just things be for a little to get a baseline. Well, I have been getting these alerts from my Apex Aqua Controller all morning. So it looks like I will have to start looking into cooling options before I can add my first fish.
