Bryopsis can be dealt with by using Kent tech-M mag suppliment and raising your mag level to 1600 slowly by 100parts per day, this seams to only work with the Kent tech-m,other brands of mag suppliment don't seem to work.
It will stop the bryopsis from taking up nutrients and starve itself out, manual removal and your skimmer will help with clean up after it dies.

And that is a sea apple, there beautiful to see,but i've heard they are difficult to take care of,short lived and can easily nuke your tank.Although tempting,I would stay away.:)

Thanks for the info! I will be sure to pick up some of that very soon!

Will increasing the flow in my tank help with algae problems? the only flow at the moment is the return pumps. The only corals I have at the moment is a little frag of zoos so flow hasn't been a big priority, however I read somewhere that having some flow going on might help.

More flow is always good IMO. Cyanobacteria is usually when people suggest more flow. grinder is right on about the bryopsis. If it is hair algae you might try a black out and it will not harm the fish or corals. Maybe you can post a macro shot of the algae to make sure of what it is. :)

Lettuce Leaf nudibranchs will help with Bryopsis as well. Be aware that once the Bryopsis is gone, you'll want to trade the nudi in for store credit.

Picked up a torch coral frag yesterday! The thing is awesome! Any recommendations for what I should supplement the tank with to keep the thing healthy? Is feeding it mysis shrimp weekly a good idea?

Also, I have the Quad version of the nanocube so where should I keep it in the tank as far as lighting goes? I have it mid-tank and it seems to have opened up ok.

    Congratulations.

No supplements needed if you do the routine water changes. They are not huge eaters and your lighting will be sufficient to keep it happy. Any where in the tank should be fine, secondary to the size of the tank. You can try and feed it mysis. Mine just never really showed much interest in eating.

that's great! The extension isn't great. It's actually pretty retracted and stayed that way all night. Probably at a few centimeters. It has about moderate flow at the moment and just fed it some mysis to see if it would look a little better.

Looks like a nice healthy one, very pretty. Try more flow if it does not open fully in a couple days and you will probably see it open more. It is easy to tell if it is too much because it will not open fully, but they like to have the tentacles tossed around some.

would it be a bad idea to slowly start replacing my live rock with base rock from reefcleaners? The live rock I have is just big chunks that I broke up myself with no holes in it or anything. I would Like to get some that has interesting shapes. How fast could I replace the rock over time?

I think I should make a thread called: "All my questions" haha!
