Inverts please. I would be suspicious of inverts more than the clowns or corals.

I was asking about the corals because I was wondering if you could treat with Melafix.

Just speculation but he could get a small mechanical injury and a secondary bacterial infection.

I will go back and look at possible reef safe treatment for bacterial infections of fins. Melafix is reef safe, but I have heard some very mixed reviews as of late so I feel uncomfortable recommending it or addition of any other medications or products.

Member and mod Inwall may be able recommend something.

i have quite a few blue hermits and a few red-legged ones as well. Also a mixed variety of snails I got from reef cleaners. No stars.

The clowns are fine so it might have something to do with an injury.

Well here is a link, but pretty much every thing I looked at said the same thing, bacterial can set in after injury. Couple antibiotics are recommended but you need to remove to treat, except with Melafix.

    Fin rot: Symptoms and treatment

    Marine Fish Diseases and Parasites

Pretty hard decision on how aggressively to treat. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Hey Allen, whats the update on the watchman?

Added some corals from a holding tank i had them in along with a cuc from reefcleaners a few days ago.I also got my media basket converted over to a fuge with the 1st and 2nd chamber cut away to hold chaeto and running carbon in the bottom chamber and added chemipure elite in the main chamber #2,thought i'd share a few pics.:)

Hey grinder that looks really nice. So cool you were able to set it up and get going again so soon and so well.

I like the open top better. Your lighting looks a lot bluer as well, that might just be me.

    New rocks or old rocks?

    Thanks Cheryl,
All but the one piece of lr i got,the rest is all leftover nuked rock from before, but i only used about half of what i had before. And i'm gonna work with those camera settings you told me about because the lighting is much brighter and crisper than how it looks in these pics. And the coral has quite a bit more color as well.

I have read the entirety of this thread, and really appreciate the info, but still have questions about the JBJ 28g nano. Specifically, I have questions about the Intermediate and/or Pro versions of the LED unit.

A little background, first. I am a semi-experienced reefkeeper, as documented in my 40Breeder Build and my 75 Build. However, I have been away from it for a while (read 8 years). Alot has changed since then, particularly in lighting.) I would like to keep the same type and mix of animals, adding a few SPS to the mix. I have all of the DIY experience that I really want right now, so the JBJ nano seems to fit the bill well. I want a complete system (with the addition of the skimmer) without all of the crap that I collected in the past that usually results in Frankentank.

Given the animal mix that am looking at (clams, softies, a few stonies, and a trio of firefish), is the intermediate LED package suitable, or would the addition of the SPSs mandate the advanced package? Another question is about noise. I plan on putting this in the master bedroom. I realize the fans go off with the main lights, but is there residual noise that would affect sleep? The location is about 20' from the bed.

I appreciate any light you can shed on this. (Sorry, that was a really weak pun.)
