anyone know how to remove the stock pump? I can;t seem to fit it though the chamber. I have soooooo much sediment in my sump that I never realized.

I have the same setup as you and all I am running is the Tunz skimmer with the intank lid. I would like to know if anyone is running the media basket and how I could run both, the media basket in the center and the skimmer.. From seeing what my skimmer pulls in, I think I am much better off with only the skimmer, every time I have tried to run carbon, or anything in the side chambers it turns to yuk because I think the flow is simply not enough.

I got rid of the media basket after putting the skimmer in the middle chamber. In the outer areas of the sump I put chemipure elite, purigen and a sponge, it works just fine. Not as cool or stylish but it works. The skimmer is worth the change.

Allenmay: that is a beautiful tank! Love it! Getting my JBJ LED Pro tomorrow. If mine turns out half has nice as yours I will be happy.

Corailline: I have read a lot on here the last couple of days and it blows me aways how helpful and nice you are to everyone. Thank you! If everyone was like you we would be a lot better off.

In a moderate attempt to bring this thread back to life, I figured I would do a little update. After I moved into the new home, I seemingly stirred the algae "wasp nest". I've had a slow but gradual increase in hair algae and, most recently, red cyano. I've changed very little but working 60 hours a week has caused me to put the tank on the back burner. Well, I ordered an AquaC Remora skimmer and have set Saturday as a major clean up day. The tank has been running for about a year without any major overhauls. My main goal is to completely empty the back chambers and give them a thorough cleaning as I think that is a major source of nitrate (my tank has always tested 0 or right at it on nearly all phosphate, nitrate/ite, ammonia). Regardless if that is my root cause, it needs to be done so I'll be installing the skimmer after it gets the solid once over. I'm determined as ever to get my little nano back to its proper state. How are everyone else's tanks doing?

LOL must be the day for Cheryl's older threads.

For me, I have never had an issue with the back chambers. I keep a yellow tail damsel back there. I occasionally syphon out the chambers during water changes. My JBJ is doing well beside having a slow leak on a seam in the back some where.
No issues with algae, but I feed very little and have a ton of flow.
I will change out the pumps in the back so if anyone is using a pump other than stock in the back chambers let me know.
    Thanks for the update. :)
