JBJ 28 gallon owners thread.

I have wanted to change out the stock pumps for MJ900's or MJ1200's but I just haven't pulled the trigger. I've been eyeballing a pair of MP10s though....

 

Anyone do a led retrofit with rapidleds kit for the biocube since they dont have one for the jbj 28?

 

Are you wanting to know if it will work in the JBJ hood or personal experience with the RapidKit for Biocubes?

 

If it will work with the hood, i may be purchasing one and want to use leds, I've emailed rapidled and they are not sure if it will fit.

Figured I would revive this thread instead of making my own I was thinking about getting a 28 either CF or LED intermediate for the living room. Not sure of what will go in it yet though. Anyways, Foster & Smith are selling them with free stands, cheapest I could find anywhere ($299 for the CF, $449 for the LED). First, is this a one time deal that I should jump on, or are they this price (with stand) all the time? Second, is the LED upgrade really worth $150? I have LED's on both my 55 & 46, but not sure if it would be worth that much. Lastly, in your experience is the JBJ the brand to go with for a good value setup that does not require many mods? I see a lot of people recommend Cadlights, but they are obviously more expensive.

 

the free stand is where the deal is. The price of the tanks is just about that.......but the stands can be upto 150.00 or so, so that is a good deal. I can not comment on the LED as I have not made the switch..........but does the offer include the MH version? If so, that is what I would go with. PC lights are expensive to replace

I have both the Oceanic 29 and the JBG 28 MH tank. I like both of them and the mods that i have done to mine are very minimal. I have added UV sterilizers to both, extra pumps and that is just about it. I do like the newer models that have an area carved out in the back for the refuge...........wish mine had that!
