They can all support LPS and hardy anemones like Bubble Tips and Condys.

Figured I would revive this thread a bit. I finally made a thread on my 28 CF-Quad seen here. I will soon be doing the Rapid LED retrofit, which I am very excited for :)

Very happy with the tank so far after only a few months. Hoping it comes close to looking as good as some others have already posted!

    New JBJ 28 Owner

    Hello Everyone,

I've recently purchased and setup a JBJ 28 Nano LED Pro.

I've been looking for a protein skimmer that is efficient, quiet, and not an overall eyesore.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be really appreciated.

If you are not using a protein skimmer I would like to hear about your experience; what is the bio load of your tank and how you are overall maintaining your water chemistry.

    Thanks Everyone,

    Welcome to 3reef.

My JBJ had a Tunze Doc 9002, this was approximate 3.5 years ago. I thought it was an excellent skimmer at the time and very quiet. Corals were first soft corals and then sps and clams.

I had 2 Clowns, a Yellow Watchman Goby and a Cherub Angel.

InTank media basket is a nice add on. You have to sometime remove the magnet to make the skimmer fit.

There are other skimmers now available that I have heard are just as good.

Following to get ideas as well, I am thinking of adding a skimmer again to my tank.

I really like the Eshopps PSK-75H I have on mine. Definitely efficient, its about as noisy as the cooling fans in my hood (CF Quad) so I don't think it is too noisy, and it does stick above the hood of course, but so far not one person who has seen the tank has made a single comment about it.

I posted a link to my tank a couple of posts above if you are curious.

    Marshall,

Your tank looks great. The skimmer you're using seems to be doing a good job based on the collection cup.

Can you tell me if you had to make modifications to get it to fit the aquarium?

    Thanks,

I bought my jbj 28 used about 4 months ago. It was he hqi version and it seemed to run very hot and I had a hard time keeping the temp stable without a chiller. My heater would be set at 76 and in the afternoon, it would rise 4-6 degrees with my house being 75 degrees. I got rid of the hqi light, took the hood off, and put in. Kessil a150w 15k. Looks super nice and everything in the tank is thriving.

Nice looking tank. I for some reason I love the GSP's.

I used that exact same skimmer when I had my jbj 28. It is a great skimmer especially once it's broken in.
