    The trouble is finding fans with the the right "thickness". The fans JBJ uses are pretty thin to fit inside the lid, and I can't remember what the thickness is. That being said, they can be gotten from JBJ.

    I don't have any experience with the IM, but I do have a JBJ 28 CF Quad. I got it for $300 shipped, including a stand, from Drs. Fosters & Smith last year. It was during a sale. Since I wanted to make this an SPS dominate tank, I installed a RapidLED retrofit kit. During the winter, the tank has no problem maintaining 77 degrees. During the summer, I just use a small fan over the sump area to keep it cool.

    The ballast for the CFL lights were actually louder than the cooling fans believe it or not. The stock fans don't bug me a bit, and the tank is in our living room.
