So, I have a JBJ ATO and it works 75% of the time. Then I will take a look and all the lights are on for both the sensors and pump, but no water is coming out. I plug unplug the ATO and plug it back and and it fires back up with water flowing. It can go for a day or two until it does the same thing again.

I have upped the internal timer to 14 minutes, I have both sensors set at the same height. I originally thought the time was the issue, that's why I moved both sensors to the same height and upped the internal timer.

Anyone have something similar happening? Any other ideas?

    Thanks
    Matt

    hey Matt,
having both sensors at the same height is the problem, if you are running the ATO in Mode A, sensors one has to be the lower then sensors Two(may have to double check that one, which is which) and sensors 2 works as a fail safe. All the light will be on but there will be no power to the pump, it just a indicator that somthing is wrong.

do you have one in your tank and one in your sump?
    or both in your DT?

nope, they are both in my sump. I am using it to keep my sump level and then my DT stays put due to the overflow box.

So I'm (pretty sure) I'm running in mode b with both floats at the same level. I'll change them up tonight and see if that makes a difference.

    thanks

Mine did the exact same thing. I was running just one float switch in the proper mode. I boosted the time to 14 mins, no change. It would randomly time itself out, usually around 30 seconds and would do it several times per day. Unplug and replug to reset. I was leaving for vacation for three weeks and ended up having my reefkeeper turn it off and back on twice and hour to reset it. When I got back I ditched the junk and went back to gravity feed that's worked flawlessly for around 5 years and eventually put a tunze on my quarantine that has never acted up. I found others on the internet reporting the same problem with the JBJ. Go with something that doesn't use float switches or go mechanical with a float valve.
