    i want to know if anyone did any modds to there nano cubes im thinking on upgrading but dont know what to upgrade to? i got the hqi 28g jbj :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

    I have the LED JBJ28 (see signature link). Mine is still stock but I plan to upgrade the media basket soon. Aside from that, I've found the JBJ to be very competent.

    They make a LED replacement hood. As someone who has used both, I would stay with the DE MH HQI and just get a different bulb.

    Ah, I just bought the LED JBJ. There's a good sale going on and the whole tank cost less than the LED hood alone!

    Yep, the upgrade isn't worth it. However, as a self-confessed collector of aquariums, I would just buy the new one too and keep both. LOL

    LOL, we were just discussing what we would do with the old HQI.

    I took the old bulb out and replaced it with LED rope lights O.O. It's a FOWLR, so it doesn't matter what the PAR is as long as it's pleasing to the eye.

    well buying a whole new unit is wayyy out of the question i just want to upgrade the nite leds? some pics are very welcome :)
