JBJ not working :(

well, I finally got over my intimidation of using an ATO. Got all of the things to set it up (going on vacation next week) and it's got some sort of short in it I tried several different things and no go.

I called the company since I'm past the return limit at Marine Depot and they are going to replace it but that doesn't help me at this point. Just thought I'd lament about it somewhere

Of course it doesn't work, your going on vacation! Isn't that when we all find out something is wrong? : )

That's not good. Did you try throwing it against a wall? When high-tech equipment stops working for me, that always does the trick.

 

I have not tried that approach special well, I guess this way it can't fail while on vacation

Any way to set up a gravity system- like mine?

NO pumps, no sensors, no power(except the accelleration of gravity), nadda.

I won't say it can't fail the way I have mine set up- but, it won't fail.

Only trickles in what evaporates through out the day, little by little.
SG stays rock steady.

 

Sorry to hear. My failed yesterday too. It made some buzzing sound in the controller and then FAIL...

 

You have to remember Todd, DIY is not my forte' I will definitely read up on your method though. Don't really want to "try it out" while on vacation though!

Civic - that's not making me feel better about getting a replacement!

 

This is what I did wrong with my JBJ.
Make sure the floats are installed correctly, they are weighted on either the top or bottom depending on the installation. Once I fixed that, I haven't had a problem since.
