I've ordered a 48x30x18 rimless with starphire glass. It's going lenghtwise between a column and a wall in my house that separate front room from main living room area and will be visible from 3 sides. It will also have a 30x30x18 sump, with 6g ATO Reservoir, skimmer, fuge and return chambers.

I calculated total weight to be about 1200lbs, so I am having to re-inforce the floor, by adding additional joists and some 4x4 supports in the crawl space.

Tank is not here yet (should arrive in about 2 weeks), but goodies are starting to show up. Click on links for higher res pics:

Tropic Eden Reef Flakes and Miniflakes, will mix 1:1

First stab at aquasacping. The towel is surprisingly close in dimensions to my new tank. I know i'll have to redo everything once the tank comes in. This took me about 30 minutes of basic stacking, just to see what I could do with this rock.

I have no idea what I'll do with this bad boy, it's just too big:

I've also already received some other equipment. Been playing with all of it:
    - 4x AI Vega Colors, EXT rails and hanging kits, will hang from ceiling above tank
    - 2x Vortech MP40s
    - Apex Controller with WDM, Conductivity and 2nd 8bar modules (got this bad boy online today and on reeftronics)
    - 2x Fluval E-Series 300watt heaters
    - Buncha probes
    - Hanna checkers for PH, ALK and CAL
    - 2 buckets of D-D H2Ocean Magnesium Pro Plus salt

    Stuff on the way:
    - Vertex Omega 150 skimmer is on the way, should be here tomorrow according to tracking number.
    - 2 BRS dosing pumps
    - BRS Rox carbon

I'll be taking my time to plumb the stand right, should be fun, looking forward to small engineering challenge :)

    For now questions are:

    - Rock direct on glass, or egg-crate?
    - Just stack rock in tank, or try to epoxy/acrylic rod it together

    More to come ....

Great looking rock! I wish my pukani was that nice, I think the larger pieces really look the best. Happy scaping:)

I used zip ties and acrylic to secure most of my rock on the bottom of the tank as to keep the majority of my rock off the sand bed. Then just stacked towards the top m

Got Apex Controller hooked up to the inet and setup. Obviously dont have any probes hooked up yet since I dont have the tank yet. But I've been playing with Apex and some programs, watching light bulbs turn on/off. Fun!

Also, got AI Vega Colors hung:

I have to say, new wireless controller for AI Vegas is nice, but the buttons are crap, either too sensative or don't register. Not the end of the world, but can be aggrovating.

Will do cable management and tidy everything up once tank gets here.

I used two 12" AI EXT rails to mount lights in pairs, then another two 12" AI EXT rails screwed to the ceiling. Used two AIs hanging kits to suspend everything.

there's a LOT of light coming through that front window, are you planning on blacking it out? If not, you might run into some issues with algae.

My 55g been by that window for 2 years. I do get some algea, but nothing I can't manage.

Hopefully new one should not be much worse.

    Good eye though, appreciate it.

Your light setup alone looks SICK!

This build is going to be sweet!
