Corals seem to like them a lot. To bad the algae does too.

 

Do you think the outbreak started after the new bulbs?

 

I can't be 100% sure but i think it was a perfect storm, with new lights and the increase in nutrients. Its been a roller coaster for me. I think I've got the tank right where i want it, then boom! Algae everywhere.

Just keep doing what you have been doing. Im about to beat my nuisance algae that started after the LED rebuild. The coralline is coming back too.

seems to be improving. Hoping just a few more weeks.

 

Are you doing something specific to beat the algae?

 

Not at this time, just did a big water change, trying to limit my feedings, got the BP reactor running well. I am doing a Small experiment in the sump, i took 2 larger pieces of LR and putt them in there with algae on it, it doesn't get any light down there, its almost all gone just after 3 days. I may consider doing a 3 day blackout on the DT.
