Hey, I'm new to the forums and somewhat new to saltwater tanks;D. So I was on ebay and decided I would give the jebo 180 skimmer a try, and so far im not really pleased with it. I'm new to skimmers so i'm not very sure how to tune it, I have it all hooked up correctly and for the past 3 days and It has produced no foam and just a ton of micro bubbles which are making me want to take it off. I have read storys about this skimmer and usually only hear bad, but most people astleast see some foam collecting. I do know it could just be the break in period but the bubbles are just horrible. Any good ways to tune this? Thanks alot Broc

BTW I have a 65 gallon, 55 lbs of live rock, niger trigger, Dogface puffer, and a dragon wrasse. I got a 4 stage SunSun 525gph canister filter with uv hooked up to it for the filter, a 600gph powerhead and a current 65watt 4bulb light fixture

    Welcome to 3reef.

It usually takes about a week in an established system for skimmers to settle into some form of working and longer to where it stays stable on a setting. It may take longer if you have a new system. Most people are not happy with Jebo products.

One tip that seems to apply to any skimmer is that there are oils in the new product from the manufacturing process. These oils can be rinsed out by running the system in warm water before putting it in display tank. The unit will rinse itself out in the tank but it just takes longer.

edit: I'm new here too.. Welcome!

    Hello and welcome,

I also thought of buying the same product and luckly had a friend at work buy one first. He usd a vinigar solution and ran it for 2 weeks to break it in. It helped with the micro bubbles and seemed to work well for 2 months then it just stoped running. while it was running it did produce good gunk though.

    also im new to.
