Troll? Resorting to name calling is at best, immature...there is a name for you! Antagonistic? Sure if you percieve it that way, again, you don't know my demeaner. Opinion? I already told you, opinion coupled with my "belief". If one doesn't hold on to their beliefs through strong conviction, one is weak minded, bound to be blown about by any wind of oposition.

There's nothing wrong with a spritely conversation, folks. As we all know, there is a way to disagree. This ain't Jerry Springer, and we don't play that on 3reef. Disagree with respect. State your opinion, move on.

If insults, sarcasm, religion or politics goes over the edge, the thread will be closed.

I don't know how you think that the ocean is an infinite vast resource incapable of destruction, while the land isn't. They work on the same principle - a fish is evolved to a specific habitat and niche, just as an animal is evolved to a specific habitat and niche. If you destroy the trees, you won't find a squirrel in the area, which you admit. Yet a clownfish can just live in the open ocean when there's no reef or anemones...?

No. That's not right. The oil spill out in the gulf worries shrimpers, because "the ocean will replenish itself" regardless as to how much oil is spilled and how many of the shrimp are killed?

I truly do wonder what time frame you're discussing, because I know that if the population of shrimp is totally destroyed, another shrimp may evolve to fill the niche left vacant due to man's stupidity.....in many, many thousands of years. If you wouldn't call that at least an "enormous impact", if not "man affecting the ocean for the worse" or "the ocean not being able to replenish itself in any reasonable time frame", we have nothing more to discuss, because you would be leaving the realm of reality at that point.

I'm using the definition of "troll" perfectly correctly: a person posting to get a reaction out of another person on the internet (a subjective matter). Your answer is worded to antagonize those with an opposing viewpoint - at least, it seems that way to someone with the opposing viewpoint (the only people it matters to). Your demeanor has nothing to do with a single action taken by you; it's a sum of a lifetime of actions, and is thus much greater than a single statement can ever reveal.

Being "strong minded", by your definition, is being strong in the memorization of "facts", beliefs and opinions instilled in you by generations of indoctrination, while being "weak minded" is having a true grasp of the application of logic and reason and using it based on current circumstances rather than blind application of principles without regard for the consequences. If one isn't open to new facts that contradict their beliefs and ideas on how to change for the better, they've stagnated in a time warp of delusion and aren't helping our species progress beyond the mindset of former generations and face the new challenges of changing times.

ha ha ha. what's with all the supernatural ghosts? I tell you, my flying spaghetti monster will beat you all down into puddles of sauce! that's my deep opinion.

I'm just so very glad my FSM awesome friend put fossil fuels down there for us to turn into smoke (without actually using fossils apparently)...

this thread went from interesting to just plain silly.

this phrase doesn't make sense: " If one doesn't hold on to their beliefs through strong conviction" A strong conviction is just another way of saying strong belief. That's a very circular thing to say. It's like saying "if one doesn't hold their strong conviction through strong conviction" um, what?

Sorry, but it does not require holding on to belief through belief to not be weak-minded... in fact... meh, i won't say it.

I think it's funny how you call someone out for name calling and then turn around and make weak-minded implications of folks... I guess there's a name for you too ;) (that's a black kettle!)
