Couple additions to the tank this morning. I went to Petco and picked up the BioCube skimmer. I figured I may as well give it a try. If it doesn't work I can always return it. Also got a Coralife 24" light. So now I have no top on my tank. I'm going to go to an acrylic shop here in town and get some covers cut for my openings and call it good. So this light is a HO T5 10,000K and a Actinic. Is this good enough to support corals? And what kind of corals? I fell asleep with the camera on so I'll get pics up as soon as it's charged.

Ok the battery is charged and I got new pics. New corals added today as well.

We'll start with the skimmer. If anybody sees anything here that needs to be adjusted feel free to let me know.

    Now a shot of the light. It's a Coralife 24w T5 10,000K and a 24w Actinic.

Asterina starfish. I only remove them if I can reach them easy without getting too wet. Some eat coralline and are rumored to eat coral. Nothing to really worry about IMO. And the torch is a "large polyped stoney" coral. They require calcium supplementation for skeletal development. Calcium supplementation means alkalinity and magnesium testing and supplementation also.

Might be okay with small weekly water changes, dosing a tank that small might be tedious,it would have to be done carefully. It would be good to pisk up test kits and keep an eye on your levels. The API Reefmaster kit would give you Ca,Alk,Po4,and Nitrate tests and isn't very expensive.
