Ok I made the Cerillo-fied version of the dorso standpipe.

Added 1/4 " tubing and siliconed around the tubing so its double air tight , then with a 1/4 " gate valve to adjust the amount of airflow. Because I'm not drilling holes 20 times to figure out the right hole size lol

*** do you guys pvc glue the bottom of your standpipe to your bulkhead? Right now it's pretty wiggly .(if that's even a word)

looks good. Like I said earlier, mine isn't glued so it can be easily removed and cleaned. If you go this route you need to make sure your sump can hold all the overflow if the standpipe comes loose.

I would not glue it to bulkhead.

Did you make the bottom like they did in the video. Notice his is threaded end and screws into bulkhead

Just like in video my bulkhead is threaded so my durso pipe has a threaded connector at the bottom(glued only to the pipe) and that screws into the bulkhead.
I know what Scajeo is saying but from sounds of it your tube is not fitting snug into the bulkhead. Without a good seal all the water in overflow will drain from overflow when pump shutoff which means you would need to make sure your sump can hold that extra volume as Scajeo states

So are you using a threaded end to go into bulkhead or did you buy a bulkhead with slip connection?

i did a slip bulkhead ;(i had a bad angle thats why it wiggled. But i did glue he pipe into the bulkhead already, and it s very snug now. I did not glue the top parts so i can clean it when the time comes, those are all very snug.

The top of the "U" in my dorso pipe measure 2" from the bottom of the overflow teeth.

Im going to throw up some more pictures in a few minutes

Here's some picture updates for you guys on the build

Sump is all hooked up with our vinyl tubing and stainless steel muffler clamps, whatever you wanna call them. Pumps are In And the 100w heater is sitting in the first section of the sump
    [IMG]

Then I cut some glass and siliconed a lip onto it so it doesn't slide off and so the lamp doesn't fall into the water and kill us all in our sleep. The light is the Home Depot 120w lamp with a 75w bike at 5100k
    [IMG]

Glued into the bulkhead, wish I used he threaded but my guy advised against it so I bought the slip
    [IMG]

Here's our gate valve and check valve into the return
    [IMG]

So ups will be delivering the RO/DI machine and salt today so it's 75g a day. So I'll hook it up into the brute garbage can I bought and mix in the salt in the morning. Live rock will be here tomorrow

I wonder what the police think when they drive by the hosue with the eerie blue light coming from the window in the corner of the house. I also used to wonder what theyd think when I hualed around 3 6 gallon jugs full of RODI from the lfs, looked like I bought chemicals for a meth lab lol
