check this out, but I believe raising mag only works if you use Kent Tech M magnesium supplement ( I dont know why) apparently other commercial products or Epsom salts, raised dont cut it, but Kent Tech M raised to 1600 or 1700 has helped rid many tanks of bryopsis (Ive been WWW surfing)

Raising Mg will only help with some species and I believe you need to use magnesium sulfate, I believe that's what the Kent Tech M is, magnesium sulfide won't work.

Is there anyway you could shut off that overflow (not let water get to it) and let it dry out then scrape it out??

eh..tangster's problem aside, that Kent Tech M treatment (higher than 1300 though) seems to work for everyone else. is it really bryopsis? got a pic? (did I skip it, internet going slow...)

raising Mag in my tank fixed my BYprosis problem. I used the mag from Bulk Reef Supply though in their 2 part.
