    damn john. one of my frags just stn from bottom up. does do you think a swing from 80-83.5/84.5 a bad swing?... from my research people had have swings but they dont loose any corals.. let me know your input! sorry about the thread stealing

    That might be from a flow issue or something eating it. I would look for Acropora eating flatworms if I were you.

    I just checked my ph and its at 8.07 this morning. When i got off my ph was at 8.37! .30 is nad isnt it!? Why would my ph spike throughout the day so high like that!? My alk
    ca.mg is all in line as well

    There are usually swings from night to day. That is considered tad much. The swing is caused by O2 saturation. If you have a refuge with algae in it run the lighting on a reverse schedule to your daytime lights. This will help some. Make sure you have good surface agitation for the best gas exchange possible.

    yeah. 2 vortechs mp10 and return pump. surface is pretty agitated. i was just messing around with the outlet of where my pH probe is plugged in and it was swinging from like 8.45-8.20 does yours do this? let me know! i might have to buy a new one

    Yeah mine will swing if the cord it not in the right position on the end where the probe connects to the controller.

    Really glad the Potter's is doing well for you. Didn't know you had a RA. I picked one up a few weeks ago.

    I have had for over a year. Had some real bad luck with equipment, ended swapping everything at least once and still could not get it to properly work a second power module. I just called it quits on trying to make the second module work properly since I had converted over to using the controller and did not want to pull everything out and rehook it back up after sending the all of the equipment to be tested together. I will probably move the RA to my planted tank and get another controller for the reef.
