I like the light to those images.

You obviously picked the perfect fish for the tank. They blend in so well to the point of almost being invisible. Is any spawning happening?

The first images looks a tad darker with more contrast?

No successful spawnings, I have seen mating behaviour though. The first one is more heavily planted on the left side, denser and taller so the light is less. The camera light meter said it was brighter but that is most likely the metering style I selected.

Were the tetra attempting to spawn and what type of Tetra are those?

You would think that would be a natural event seeing as the pH, lighting and over all environment must be ideal judging by the plant growth. I do not know how hard it is to get Tetra to spawn, I seem to remember Neon Tetra spawning in a store once.

Those are Rasboras. I think the water is too hard for them. The plants wouldn't be as happy.

Thank you, I am surprised anyone knew the term. There are very few heavy duty plant afficianados on this site.

I have always said a nice planted tank can rival a reef tank any day. These are nothing short of amazing. I can keep a reef like no other but last time I tried a planted freshwater tank, it was an epic fail. Keep the pics coming!

    Thanks and I agree.

A planted tank is like a reef in that you need to get your dosing right. You just need to get the right stuff dosed.

I dose various minerals to keep the plants healthy along with phosphate and nitrate. I also use pressurized CO2 to help the plants deal with the intense lighting and take up nutrients faster than the algae. Potassium is an important nutrient in planted tanks.
