If I ever see that guy I am punching him in the nuts. You don't want to compete FINE. You want to go Heli-skiing in the Alaska outback FINE! Don't go to the damn Olympics. I am sure there was some up and coming American that would have loved to go AND would have tried.

PS Screw Nike for trying to sell this as some sort of Zen thing instead of the train wreck it is.

Bode Miller America's 5 medal hopeful that choked hardcore and didn't get any medals not even any bronze. He DNF 2 out of the 5 too. He also had a whole series of ads with Nike where he spout off about his sport philosophy.

Sorry John I guess the winter Olympics are not that big down under;)

    Thanks for the info :)

Don't apologise either mate :) The Winter Olympics are certainly popular in Australia even though we don't have many representatives.

I was just a bit surprised that you were caning someone in that way :)

I looked him up in the meantime as I thoght he must have been a mass murderer, rapist or child molester or something sinister like that. To my relief I found out he was simply

" the reigning world champion because, last March, he won the World Cup title, the world series of skiing. He is the first American to do that in 22 years. "

Sorry that he disappointed you :)

Yep, I agree, people who don't care or try make me mad too. So what do you think happened in the last 12 months?

He did like 140 events in 2 years. He didn't seem to treat the Olympics as anything special. I think he is burnt out, just real bad timing.

I am not trying to be smart here I am really asking but does Australia have snow anywhere? You basically just need a high mountain and you got snow. I saw there was a Keyan guy in the cross country ski events!

Covey, It's not unusual for some atheletes to treat the Olympics in that way. Mostly athletes seem to consider their respective "World Cups" as greater competions than the Olympic games. I think this is probably because the "Cups" are generally individual competitions and do not involve competition between countries which I guess means less politics.

Australia does have snow, not a lot mind you as we do not have any really high mountains. Most of the snow fields are in southern New South Wales, Victoria ( where I live ) and in Tasmania. The snow seasons are also quite short ( there is no permanent snow ) so most of our athletes train overseas, or we import them from Canada ( where is Jason when you need him :) )

also...i mean for all i know this might be true...but that exactly makes you think that he doesnt care about the olympics? i mean just because he didnt start crying cuz he didnt win doesnt mean he doesnt care...it just means hes a good loser :)
