    I have a 46BF with a HOB skimmer, HOB fuge, HOB carbon reactor, and a UV. Covered by a glass top, the plastic that the top comes with, and mesh. I have a 10 gallon QT with a HOB skimmer and HOB filter, covered the same way. I have a 55 gallon with a HOB overflow. That one has a canopy and the openings on the back are covered with mesh. I have a drilled 125 that I made tops for.

    It can be done :)

    I know it can be done. It was the point of why do this. This is my first incident like this. Doesn't mean I have to go rush out and build a top for my tank because of a fluke. Now if it is a recurring thing then yes I would build one.

    I assume we're talking about the 29gal here? I'm willing to bet he/she's gonna start jumping more.
