Does anyone do anything to prevent suicidal fish. I dont currently have any jumpers but I have some fish in mind that are jumpers like a firefish or wrasse

and i mean with anything other than egg crate. but if someone does use eggcrate, do you have any issues with salt creep on eggcrate?

Egg-crate is your best bet.. And if that's not enough, there is a thin cloth material that wont disturb your lighting... Im sure someone will chime in with the name soon enough...

Salt creep should be an issue.. You can cut it into section, so you can remove it and do some cleaning time to time...

    Best of Luck

ive used screen door material. cut it to size, used velcro tabs to secure it. easy to clean and remove. couple spots were hard to cover, so if somethin gets out there, it was destined then. lol

A canopy is your best bet. Second would be the screen materiel. I personally wouldn't waste my time with egg crate. I have had two fish jump right through it.

also the asthetices of egg crate, doesnt look neat or clean. the black screen blends in with the light cover and tank frame. and inexpensive. was 15 for the screen and 5 for velcro with lots of extra. screen is easier to clean of salt creep.

I got thin glass cut to fit the open areas of my tank. A while back I went to a fellow reefers home that had a light meter and the loss of light even with some decent salt creep was very little.
