    Well, after many years of un-successful and successful reefing I am going to take the plunge into sea-horsing. I am going to run an 18g tall with a 5 gallon sump. Picked up a stand last week and a g l a s s h o l e s super nano con dientes over flow and am about to drill and start stacking rock. From my research it is best to start with dry dead every thing to prevent disease problems so that is where I will start. The only problem I see is when I am ready to stock it, it will be in dead winter, so not so good for shipping...

    Any advise or suggestions?? Thanks---;D:cheesy::eek:

    Sounds like it will be a pretty cool build. When drilling if you havent done it before make sure to go slow and almost no pressure.

    Are they going to be wild caught or TR? Plus I heard they survive better with their temps being around 73-74 degrees.

    Hole drilled, overflow mounted. ;D Was nice and easy.

    Tank raised are my plan for sure. Haven't pick a species yet though.

    Recommendations for return pump size? From what I have read they don't like much flow...MJ 1200 too small?

    Got the MJ1200, 5gal tank for sump, some live sand, plumbing and just need to refinish the stand. Now all I need is time....

    Here are a couple of quick shots from my phone. Sump isn't complete yet. I still have to install my skimmer and dividers in.
    Sock is sitting on the side at the moment. Cpr sock holder finally has a use.

    Installed the filter and put a Catalina Goby and a Green clown goby in as tank mates for the future sea horses. So far the Catalina is doing great, not very skittish and eats like a horse. (Pun intended) However the green clown goby is very skittish and I have not seen it more then twice in the last 5 days. I hope Dr Foster Smith lives up to their 14 day guarantee. Pictures to come....at work at the moment.
