This is common knowledge, but it’s nice to have a reminder

When doing research, NEVER trust one source! It doesn’t matter if the info if from a fellow hobbyist, friend, or the Internet.
Just as an example. Most sites say

That is completely false. My O clown has thicker lines than a lot of true percs.
That was just one example, there are many more. The moral of the story is, always get info from as many sources as possible.
Like a said, everybody should know this, but it’s nice to be reminded.

It would be nice if people posted some examples of stuff that would have been avoided, with doing research from more than one place.

It amazes me at some of the names of clowns some times. You are 100% correct though. It all boils down to individual genetics. Mutation occur all the time, especially in captivity where natural selection doesn't really exist.

I have some ORA OC clown that are one of my favorites due to their markings. Looks pretty similar to the one in your picture.

But, but, but….if it’s on the net, it must be true ! LOL – I have this conversation with my ICBM (mommy-dearest-inlaw) she’s convinced if its written it must be true !
