It's hard for me to be ****-ish but I am seriously going to make comments about my temperature and him being greedy with my help.
I was venting to my fish store friend and they were like "man, you haven't learned yet? He always takes advantage of you and that is how he is (if it ain'f for him, he don't care!)". I dunno if I am too nice and try to help people or I am just stupid for not looking out for myself.

    Helping others

I do understand, I do alot of helping others for anything for nothing.

But you have your own problems.. a friend would see a friend in need.

    Best of luck,
    Mike

No, it was my fish store friend that said he and a customer "just talked" about how they tried the mni frig method and it didn't work and were explaining why. I really wasn't listening cuz I was still exhausted from all the running around.

Craig's list was were I found the guy for $40. All the other people want $75 or more and I can go to Walmart and buy it new for $79. I figured half the price and less then a year... good deal.

    lol...

Totally. I get the self satisfaction that someone needed me and I could help them. I agree with him being greedy with the free extra chiller... it was free and with all the times I've helped him for free, he knew I needed some way to help cool down my tank... he knew.

    Thank you for the luck,
    Ryan

Just take a hammer and screwdriver to the seam of the tank the next time you are over. Midnight splash

I think it may be my lights even though I turned the MH off an only run the 8-T5s now. I have no tops on the tank and air flowing in and out of the hood but it also may do with keeping my house at 80 too. I would turn the air off if it wasn't for the tank... that's why I am looking for a mini frige.
    Thank you for the wishes...

lol... I couldn't do that but it is funny to think of it.

ok im kinda lazy today so i just skimmed the thread. i researched the making a chiller from a fidge along time ago, im just gonna say i wont work like a real chiller will. one site i found broke the math down and most fridges wont drop the temp more then a couple degrees it definitely wont make 20 degrees. fridges are made to keep cool stuff cool and keep heat out, not remove it constantly.

you would be better off freezing many two liters of water and throw them in your sump every day.

i dont know the situation either between you too, but i kinda think both of you were wrong, you shouldnt help your friend for a chiller you should just do it, but if he has a extra one he should just let u use it no questions asked

I use 20 oz bottles now and they only drop it a degree or two. I understand the frige therory... makes sense. I was just wondering if anyone has actually tried it and had it work or not work.
The friend thing was not me wanting a chiller. I was just mad that he didn't even offer to pay my gas or tolls when the favor was for him. I am all about helping people who need help doing stuff. I never ask anyone for a thing and like I said before I even help my one friend and give him his money back that he tries to hide in my car... I just want to bbe offered something to be able to say no to, not just taken for granted. The chiller thing was just the extra kicker cuz he has 2 and could have let me borrow or give him some money for it. He got it all for free, like he always does. He was just being greedy and after all I did help him and even came out of pocket.
I am almost over it, it's the past now. What goes around comes around and I will make sure he atleast pays for gas and tolls next time, if any.
