I just picked him up about 20 minutes ago for my reef. Anyone have one or any input on them? I did some research but looking for first hand experiences.

    Pic will come soon.

Beautiful fish. First hand, very friendly but I've seen a couple females eat turbo snails and hermit crabs.
Strangely enough, the male left everything alone.

I love these guys. Typically labeled as the most reef safe of triggers. TONS of personality, the ones at the LFS i work at shoot water at me every now and then, the male will even let me touch him on occasion.

I dont know if its a male or female. Guy at LFS said it may pick at shrimp but if I keep him well fed then I should be ok.
I fed them as soon as i added him to the tank and he was eating but he has been hiding for the last few hours. I guess I will see what happens tomorrow. Thanks for the responses.

I figured it out, its a male.

Are they jumpers? My tank has no top.

All fish have a chance at carpet diving but personally I've never had a trigger jump on me. Nice buy. Give him time and he'll start coming out more and more. The males will have a blue patch and females do not.
