Shot placement is key yes but is key many buy a gun but dont know how to use them. Yeah a .22 is deadly also but only by luck. If self defence is the concern most go larger then that. If target practice and shooting is key then many go with a 9 for price point. I personally dont trust a 9 for home intrusion. I have a 9 and even a .22 but not my choice when I have to use it. I perfer my .40 or .45 I think the .40 has better placement by me so its what I carry and the first id use if needed. its also an agrument on the 9 that you can be more accurate due to less kick but I personally have not noticed the difference.

i agree with most what you said, but a .22 can take a man down in many places. people used to use 22's to deer hunt. a quality hollow point to the heart/lungs/liver/kidneys/femoral artery, or anything to the head, and life isn't good for ya ;)

that being said, between my 22, 9 and 40, i carry the 40 the most because you don't need that little bit of luck!

Very true yes and a .22 can cause extensive dammage due to the bullet bouncing around. I agree. I too carry the .40 due to luck lol but am a good shot. My wife carries a .22 so I know the spectrum. We are avid gun folk here not by choice but due to actually 4 beak ins in a year.

That sucks! Sounds like thats a shotgun issue. You don't have to know guns to know that the sound of a shotgun cocking in the dark would stop anybody in their tracks!;)

Lazer sights are not that accurate and not all that adjustible. They are cool to look at but otherwise not that great. once you learn they are off two inches you leanr to shoot 2 in off but otherwise they are not worth it. people think they are great but really not unless you sepend a ton of time sighting them

    Not a bad purchase. I've got an S&W M&P compact 9mm and I <3 it.

2 basic reasons, they are hard to adjust if built in, and 2 they give you away. I'd rather not be seen if possible, and if you are in a home intrusion type situation, i just found i'm more accurate pointing and shooting on instinct rather than trying to place a little red dot. I know in the few classes i've been in, across the board, people seem to be more accurate pointing and shootin while on the move rather than "aiming". Prob a personal opinion.

Personally I'm a fan of .22. When we go down south to the family ranch we always go out and shoot the ppk .22. Really fun little gun and not too much recoil.
