With my gun I am not concerned with giving myself away. The only time I can realistically see myself shooting someone is in a being mugged situation, outside of my home, and if the red dot scares the person away and I dont shoot them that's better. I do know if the gun is coming out in self defense I am aiming to kill and not to scare though.

For right now I have a "under pants" type holster that clips to my belt. I'm probably going to get a better holster but I can't carry for at least 90 days anyway so this will do for now.

I paid $475 for this gun, with the laser sight thrown in for free. I probably wouldn't have gotten the laser if it wasn't free. The laser is under the barrel and it still has the regular sights, so if I don't like it, it didn't hurt anything.

A buddy of mine has a .40 kimber I believe and he is always complaining about the price of bullets. Plus it just looks way to big to carry. Although it is a lot more intimidating than the .22 he bought just for use at the range.

Uggh I can't wait to get this thing and hit the range.

I have to disagree with the difficulty of adjustment, that they are not accurate, and that they are not faster to get on target in a stressful situation however I do agree they give away location. I ask in terms of being inaccurate if you've shot a firearm sighted in with a good laser like crimson trace or veridian? There are world champion shooters that use them on home defense guns.

If I could throw in my two cents, I have always liked h&k for durability and for lasting forever! Plus you can practically drag those things through cement and they will still fire! I would go with an hk45, the cost is a little bit prohibitive though...

Oh i don't deny that if you like it use it, and that with practice it might be worth it! I'm just looking at my scenario! I'm a pretty good shot, and really pray i never have to push a bullet towards another! But i'm guessing the only way i ever will, will prob be in a home invasion. In that scenario, stealth is key, and location close, so i just don't feel the laser is necessary. IMO. But i haven't shot enough with one to really get comfy with it yet, cycling it on and off to hide.

But then again, if someone breaks in my home the .40 is being held, while i cock my 12 gauge letting them know slugs are coming through the floor/walls asap. nothing says uh oh like the sound of a 12 gauge cocking! IMO again

The only thing scarier would be CLINT EASTWOOD cocking a twelve gauge.

    Tsk tsk tsk :-(.
I envy you guys who can CC. I live in the republic of California and it is impossible to Conceal Carry. We are evn limited to 10 round clips. :-(

Dont see if it has been mentioned but almost ALL of my revolvers and semi auto handguns are carried in a CROSSBREED SUPERTUCK or MINI TUCK depending on the gun...BY FAR THE BEST and MOST COMFORTABLE IWB holster I have EVER worn

    Crossbreed Holsters > Home

They are leather OR horshide depending on what you want, have a LIFETIME warranty on the holster, are SUP GREAT guys to deal with and will ALWAYS take care of you

Yeah, there are quite a few republics in the US that make it impossible for folks to carry. Even plenty of "red" towns in Mass where the chief LEO will deny a class A to folks that have taken the classes, paid for the application and pass the thorough State background check. We have to bow to high mag capacities as well - pre Sept 98 I believe. A reason why Glocks with pre-ban "high cap" mags a popular for carry guns in Mass. That, and Glocks rule for a number of reasons!

I mentioned the crossbreed on the 1st page, they're awesome indeed.
