I have a beautiful blue arco I've had for about 4 years now. It survived my tank crash after my move thanks to Willow. and it is a much sought after frag. But lately it has really been a pain. The epoxy I used to fix it to the rock almost a year ago suddenly disintegrated. now this coral is nearly 11 inches tall and extends 8 -9 inches across. So with the wave action of my tank it has become impossible to fix it to a rock.
Well tonight I'm screwing around with it on my own (Tom R were are you) and the ENTIRE LEFT SIDE OF MY TANK COME CRASHING DOWN
Well I have at least 7 corals that are bigger than 12inches across so it took some great effort from my wife and I (Thanks Babe) but as the panic subsided and the swearing became in sync with the CO2 count on my CA reactor I realized that this just might be a good thing. The tank, I think, looks good. Maybe. Ya. and you know what. The frag tank is full.;)

You're lucky J. A buddy of mine came home once and hi dog was all excited to see him and knocked over the coat rack which then proceeded to fall over and knock the side out of his 180g tank. Luckily he still had the door open so the water went strait out.

When I have a large specimen to put to a rock Like just last week or so we had to remove a huge yellowish acro with rich green polyps it had just gotten to large for the clients display 1,200 gallon tank , this piece of about 12 inches tall and the diameter of a dinner plate was brought in in a old salt bucket that it almost filled up.

Now what I do is to drill 2 holes through a piece of Rock then make a harness like at the base with one zip tie around the coral then I feed two others through that one around the base then cinch that base one up tight then I lace the other ones through the holes and then zip it down I use a drimmel to grind the base of the coral and the rock as smooth as I can then a glob if glue a set and zip. once they fuse to the rock you can snip the zip ties. Its been been two weeks and its doing fine not moved a fraction.

Big corals need more then epoxy :)

Holy crap. I thought your tank broke too! Thank god it didn't. This is my biggest worry about tanks...them literally crashing. What the hell do you do?

Thanks everyone, Well this morning everyone seems happy.

I tried to attach the coral with zip ties but it would still rock back and forth. I just didn't spend as much time on it as I needed and last night I was going to fix that. Well I guess I did.
