I measured my 29 gallon inside width of 11 3/4". I read to take off a bit to allow some gap. Should I take 1/8" off leaving 1/16" gap on both sides or take 1/16" off leaving 1/32" gap on both sides? just want to double check with you guys before i have a shop cut it.

Either way will be fine. I think I ended up leaving about 3/32" total. The silicone will fill in either gap that you're considering. Don't have a shop cut it. If the baffle thickness isn't more than 1/4", go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a $5 glass cutter and do it yourself. Cheaper and fun.

Check out my sump pics. I made it out of a 20 long and bout 3/32" thick glass at the local Home Depot and cut it to size. It took 10 minutes to cut all the pieces.
