I took in a large foxface rabbit fish to my LFS to trade from something more suited for my tank.

I recently switched out my crushed coral substrate for the super fine aragonite sand.

I was looking for some sand sifters....

I got a sand sifting starfish and a blueband goby or a blue cheek goby not sure what its called exactly.

when i landed it after an hour and a half of drip acclimation, it was staying mid level in the tank and seemingly teasing my clowns. It was odd that it didn't go to the substrate. I never saw it take a scoop of sand in my tank like it was at the LFS...

Lights went out and i went to bed.

Today i cant find it anywhere..... I fed the fish this morning and everyone came out for a feeding but the goby is MIA....I searched using a flashlight to see in the dark places, and i got nothing..

Any ideas what happened or where it could be? I searched on the floor incase it jumped out somehow and even looked in my fuge.

one side of my tank has the majority of the LR piled up while the other is quite open, with only a few small pieces with frags on it laying on the sand.

The sand sifting starfish is doing great although it kinda burried one of my corkscrew nems in sand when it went back under when the lights came on.

    any thoughts?:-/

Most likely he dig a tiny hole under a rock, I just got a Yasha Goby few days ago, and it hides really good, I have to pay my daughters 5 dollars to whoever find it, it hides in really small tiny spaces.

well NM......apparently its back teasing my clowns! What a weird little bugger! Looks like it's hiding place is in a small crack of LR that my long tenticle anemone is attached.

Its hovering over the nem and the clowns are doing there best to get it to move along....this is really funny to watch! the female is coming out of the nem and attempting to strike it, and it misses and looks like the goby gives it a whack then the clown retreats to nem only to try again!

Now that its sifting sand i see a potential problem! it spits out the sand and it goes everywhere! some getting up into my overflow!
