I went down to my LFS, and saw a 2 maroon clowns in their own little section. They caught my eye and turned out to be a mated pair. So I had to pick them up. So they are settling in my 75. Lol I also saw a horseshoe crab, 10 zebra hermits, bucket of salt(on sale), a new super antic VHO, phosphate sponge stuff, floating magnetic scraper, and I went in their to say hi to one of my friends. What should I put in their to host them? I was thinking of a terracotta pot or something like that.

I have a single maroon clown and he's hosting in a bubble-tip anemone. It's the coolest thing to watch him wallowing in its tentacles and feeding it mysis. Good luck!

Ever seen what a mated pair of Maroons will do to a tank ? As for spawning them ? they will find the area they like usually under and or neat a anemone on a rock. But they will beat the heck out of about anything they see to be in their area and you have some fish that will or are able to defend themselves very well. Now if you are putting them in a special tank fine but not a good idea in a community tank. Good luck with them.

I have mine in a 55g tank, along with a coral beauty, flame angel, 6 line, and watchman goby. The clowns stay close to the carpet, and then the two angels tend to congragate around it too. They all seem to get along ok. The clowns were the first in the tank though.

I've heard of terra cotta being used to host clownfish but there's no guaranty that they'll nest in it. You can pretty much say that about anything that you put in the tank though. :)

Actually, you're looking for them to nest :)

I forget whether or not you should be using glazed or unglazed terra cotta in a marine aquarium so you might want to research that before you put anything in there.
