Hello all, well i just came back from the LFS with a couple of new things. (just wanted to let you know :p). Heres my shopping list :

    1 bright green Ricordea head
a 1 lb rock full of green star polyps
Some sort of algae (ive been looking on the net to see what the name of it is but cant seem to find it, there was i link posted on here a long time ago to a site with an algae index that was pretty complete, maybe some one still has it::), i searched but cant find it).

I decided to get some iodine so i bought the "seachem reef iodine" plus the seachem test to go with it. If any of you have any tips for iodine let me know.

oh and some boring astrea snails.

Well thats it. So ive read about everything i bought but if you have any useful info please share.

    thanks

    Marc.

Cool they were my first coral too.they grow fast and spread like mad,i had to move the rock they were on from the other LR to an "island" by themselves to keep from spreading so fast.

Green star polyps were one of my first corals added into the tank as well. I've always liked them. Just last week I added a big hammer coral that I am really jazzed about. My wife is going to kill me if I don't stop adding so much to the tank.;D

Make sure your star polyps have good water movement, they like alot of movement sort of like Xenia. Your mushrooms on the other hand need fairly calm water movement to do well at least from my own experience. Both will spread pretty quickly(button polyps-zoos and polythoa also spread easily and are pretty hardy good luck!

I was looking at getting gsp for my first coral purchase too. What would be a good price to pay for them?

My experience with Xenia is that they dont like much water movement.
