Just got back from vacation last night and my light timer was stuck on (better then off, but ahhhh!!!!) Not sure if it was stuck the whole time or just a few days. I was gone for 6 days, i had someone coming twice a day to feed and add evaporated water but he only came during "light on" hours. Everything looks like its ok, there was a fair amount of algae growth, my 2 snails are dead. All my corals (besides the candy looking slightly bleached), trigger and moroon clown, spiney urchin, banded shrimp and hermits look ok. Turned the lights off last night at 8pm when i realized and now at noon turned them back on. Is there anything i should be doing to help??

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
If it is possible that the lights were on for an extended period of time, I might reduce the lighting period initially especially if I had intense lighting.

Mind if I ask what kind or brand timer it was. I'm asking because I've been worried that one of my timers will fail. I have been thinking about getting a controller for this reason.

you might wanna check your levels asap.. cause I have heard that inconsistent lighting can cause slight ph swings and this could be a reason for your coral bleaching as well

Well, I know it's too late but stick with digital timers. not the mechanical type. Also, just as the poster above mentioned check your ph and adjust accordingly. Changing your lighting schedule at this point relly won't make much of a difference. Keep it business as usuall and things will start to come back. you cant reverse what has been done so retarding your lighting schedule won't do any good nor harm.
