    Thanks for all the great advice and kind words everybody.
    I have already contacted the unemployment office and filed my claim. If I get denied I'm definitely fighting it. Hopefully everything will work out. Unfortunately I won't hear anything for a couple weeks so we'll see what happenens.

    you should actually just be able to win unemployment by getting statements from the coworkers that tipped you off to your termination.

    I would definitely report them to a higher authority for lying.

    Unemployment will ask you if you were able and available for work. You should have worked those last few days and not have called out. Then if you were fired you would get the umemployment guaranteed. Now they will fight it. Today you don't start getting checks until you are either eligible or you appeal a decision and win. Then unemployment pays you in a lump sum for all back weeks if you appeal and win. Good Luck
