That's what lionfish do...they sit around. The guy that got me into this hobby got all excited when he bought a dwarf lionfish, then he got disappointed cuz it just sat around LOL.

Try grass shrimp. They are saltwater so they can live in the tank. And if it doesn't eat them then you will have temporary cleaners until he gets hungry.

Its not Droid, it's me fishies.

Lionfish indeed perch, but that doesn't sound normal. If he's not eating live fish, that's definitely not normal.

With the gulping, I would personally put it in hypo. They are able to process salts easier (and gill easier) in hypo. You have to work on feeding (but not goldfish.... they are very inappropriate). Try ghost shrimp or guppies/mollies. I persoanlly dose Vitamin B to my fish that aren't eating anything at all. can't give you much research on that one, but I've been doing it for about a year, I believe.

After he was looking a little better, I would treat him for flukes. But not yet, I don't know if he could handle it without seeing him myself.

    Pics and maybe a video?

EDIT: Wait, I read that wrong. He's breathing normal but won't eat? How many days have you had him? Still can't say I've ever had a healthy lion refuse live food.
