What pack said about getting them into the main tank. Sponges will make it easier...but anything will work.

Me=Jealous. I want a Mandarin. I've had my own threads about them not so long ago (those were an adventure ::))

see if your mandarin will take to live blood worms. my lfs feeds them only live blood worms and they are fat as can be. Helps with the feeding. They also start to pay more attention to you.

What about substrate? Do you use the sponges to shake them into the display tank as well? I am assuming you mean house sponges right?

I don't have a dragonet yet, but I want to get my pod population really going before I add one.

No substrate, there's no need for one. And yes, house sponges, like the type for washing dishes. The ones that resemble the matted up fishing nets work best. I have a detailed log with pics about my pod bucket towards the end of my thread here: http://www.3reef.com/forums/show-off-your-fish-tanks/packleaders-40-gallon-thread-52745.html

The bucket o 'pods is a fake product nano invented after seeing my set-up. See above thread.

While they are good sellers and that products good, you can't rely solely on buying pods for a mandarin. Well, at least I can't. A mandarin will go through that in a week or so easy. Can you afford $200 a month in fish food for a single fish? Breeding is the easiest way. Cheap, and easy. But that does work very well for seeding/getting it started.
