Just got my 1st RO/DI unit quick ?'s

For my specific unit you can see the manual pages 8-12 give the instructions on measuring and trimming:

All Spectrapure RO/DI units come new with a printed manual which contains these directions. if you did not get the manual, print the one MoJoe linked to or they can be viewed at www.spectrapure.com at the top of the page under manuals. Trimming the restrictor or at least confirming the waste ratio is correct is a must. This is one thing Spectrapure and I believe Buckeye Field Supply does unlike most vendors who supply a fixed type restrictor that often is not correct for your particular water conditions. This can lead to either too low a waste ratio which prematurely fouls a RO membrane or too high a waste flow which not only wastes water but also reduces both treated water production (GPD) and rejection rate or removal efficiency since the presure is being lost in the waste stream.
