OK, just read this and decided to shove a rag into the opening - what a difference!!!!!

Yeah I does do a 29.5 day moon cycle.. half, full, quarter you name it. I got it because the LED has 5 lights in a 4" unit. So the moon timer you can manually dim it, and set it on a timed moon cycle. I will get pis up. the LED is hooked up, but I haven't set up the timer yet. My skimmer has been running for two hours now. There is white froth building up with the cup halfway down. None of it has made it into the cup yet, just to the tip. I expect it to be pulling out some s!&% in a few days to a week. I will take pics!

 

Wow, that's gonna happen tomorrow. My girl already asked me about the noise, lol.

My new moonlights, since my nova extreme SLR's don't have built in moonlights. Getting some micro bubbles mad crazy, but I know it has to break in. Shoula broke it in, in a bucket. Oh well, I wanted it on my tank. There's a nice white froth building up. I have the cup halfway up, and the froth gets right to the top and goes back down, I plan on skimming dry, no wet skimate. I had a pic of the foam at the top, but it came out blurry. I'll get another one and take one tomorrow and compare it. Actually gonna start a review, maybe tomorrow and track this baby's progress with lots of pics. No I must drip some Kalk..

 

I woke this morning to see foam in the tube already and some has made it into the cup as well. So far so good and definitely try the rag or towel to quiet - such a difference

 

Nice, yeah at 3 am I got back from the train station, and some white froth has made it into the cup. How far down is your cup? Mine is about halfway up. I have a folded shop towel over the intake.. wow what a difference. I agree!
