Just got my AquaC Remora!!

wow.. are you glad you replaced the Prizm?

 

At first when it was making a lot of noise I was pissed saying "everyone recommended this loud piece of S#!&" but once I muffled it was a lot better.

I actually never had any issues with the prizm except for when it overflowed that one time. Otherwise I thought it worked fairly well (on my 35G). When I upgraded to a 65 it still worked but I just figured it couldnt do the correct job for a tank that size so I just figured F-it, time to upgrade. I'll keep an update going once it breaks in and hopefully I see a major difference

 

Noise doesn't bother me, but it was rather loud. My gf was not thrilled. lol

 

What initially bothered me was that I had read places that people thought the prizm was loud where I didn't think so at all. So I figured this would be better considering it was recommended. When I powered it on I was saying to myself "something is wrong" but it was working and flowing properly. What really got me then was my girlfriend saying she could hear it from the kitchen and the tank is in the living room. Once I heard that I needed to do something hence the rag 8)

any updates on these skimmers? there's a guy selling one for 100, I am very interested in the performance but don't want to get it quite yet if it's flawed in some way... heard it's REAL LOUD.. kind of sux...

Btw if you put a clean rag over the intake, it's not that loud.. just has microbubbles a lot.

btw really looks good after 3 weeks, the slim design is what's catching my eye.
