Funny how we all think that this is such a big investment. It took me 12 years before I bought one. Thing is with the hydromater if you don't like the reading take it again! Easily fluctuates +/- .002 don't care what brand it is.

Sad part is we spend a ton of money on everything else. So why are so not inclined to spend 50-100 dollars on somthing that we will use monthly/weeky and for some of you daily! I can't believe it took me that long to buy something that works perfect for me everytime!:wacky:

Anything else we use that reliable?...if so what did that cost.

Well said, Jakerupe! It's an investment that I didn't get around to making until I went reef.

I got the one thats on sale at Aquarium supplies for your tropical fish tank, saltwater fish tank, saltwater aquarium fish, freshwater aquarium fish & reef aquarium. Aquarium filters, aquarium lighting, aquarium tanks, protein skimmers & more for your reef tank. for $39.99. Im glad I didnt get the expensive one b/c as I have mentioned before, My hydrometer wasnt off by much. Some differences are just comfort. Some come with a built-in light, some come already calibrated. Just log on and you be the judge. Good luck. Luna

Thats the exact same one I have, love it. I dont really see any reason to get the expensive $100 models.

Looks similiar to the one I have. I would tell you that of the three on there there is not much of a difference, just cost. They are all just bending light so save some money.

Dr Foster Smith has a pretty good deal for what they call a salt mixing kit.
