thanks, so far I think its him, but theres lots of sand particals flying around the tank since I added him :p Hopefully he will calm down with digging sands once in later.

JB, How many gallon tank do you have? Also what do fish do you have in there? Does the pistol shrimp take corals if they are glued?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
My experience with the pistol/goby pair is that you will have sand storms, some days better than others. The pistol will grab anything and everything he can carry and try to drag it down the burrow. You may want to be careful about what frags you put on the sand bed. Fungia corals do not like the sand storms IME. In larger tanks this is not such an issue but in nano's it can prove to be a problem.

I have a CADLight 22 gallon set up. Agree with Corailline about the sand storms. It never really stops, there are just calmer days than others. As far as my live stock, he seems to be doing well with what i have in there now. (pajama cardinal, YWG, 1 sexy shrimp (used to be 3), purple coral banded shrimp). The pajama cardinal and YWG are the only fish that he has not eaten. He has gone through 1 pajama cardinal, 3 green chromis, 2 six line wrasses, 1 false percula, too many snails and hermits, and peps to count, and a blood shrimp. Man, now that i see it in writing, i am CRAZY for re-stocking!!!!!!
i have tried to get him out and even completely tore the tank apart, but no luck. At this point i have what i have and am concentrating on coral. If the coral is glued or putty'd down there is no issue. Like Corailline said though, he may bury some on your sand bed.

I've had a YWG and Pistol shrimp for about a year now. They have finally settled in one spot. They used to move all over the place. Not they are positioned facing the front of my tank. I've recently noticed that my shrimp has become braver and is exploring the top of my sand bed. Not sure what he is looking for.

Good luck! I just added a red striped pistol for my YWG about a week ago. So far no luck since the pistol just hides in the rock the whole time. Hopefully they'll find each other. I think it's funny to look over at the tank and see sand flying out of the crack in a rock.

Well I just left the LFS and was told that the pistol will always wreck havoc in the reef environment. So I think I am going to get a cleaner shrimp and a Fire shrimp. Was told I could have these two together time for some research.
