Shack, to answer your question, nothing special. It's mostly lace rock, so it all fit together well. Some of the rocks had to be welded together though. A dab of All Glass aquarium on the underside took care of that.

Another small update. I picked up some black paint to touch up the stand and to paint the new 2x4's. I also had some RedGuard left over from a recent tile job, so I can waterproof all the new wood under the stand. The tank should have sand and water this weekend! Quick question. How many of you use CaribSea Reeflor special grade? Do you like it?

Great build, love the rock work, I haven't used the sand but sort of wish I had. I have the sugar sized sand and have to watch how much flow I have and how I place my power heads.

I have 2 marineland 4 bulb t-5 fixtures. I had one running my 150g, then added another, to make 8 bulbs. I later upgraded to Metal Halides (3x400) and moved the Marineland fixtures to each of my freshwater 75's. Three years later and they are still running strong. I would recommend them to anyone. I also run a 65 skimmer...It rocks...also 3 yrs running 24-7.

Just an update. The sump isnow under the stand (still needs to be cleaned a little). I touched up the stand and top with some paint. I also painted the 2x4 supports under the stand and added some power strips. Still have some minor plumbing to do, but should hve it done this week.

Will be heading to the LFS tonight to pick out sand and then it's time to start making some RO. Tank should be up and running by this time next sat.

Oh, and that is an old 48" light. Will be using this during the cycle (not that it's needed). Waiting on tax return to buy light and skimmer.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Looks great, prime real estate for corals on the shelfs. I would love to have that type of scape.

Picked out my sand tonight. I ended up going with Carib Sea Seaflor special grade.

Well the sand is in. I did my rock scape right this time, added the eggcrate, rock and then sand. However, I have a few cracks and openings at the base of my rock work. Anyone have any special tricks for getting sand in those places?
