just got the RKL 1 ?

    hey all last night i got my RKL and skimmed through the booklet and it does all kinds of things, ? is does it need to go through my pc or is it a stand alone as well, like i said i really did not have time to go through the book, just wondering?

    Its a self contained stand alone unit and will control almost anything. The only time you need to hook your PC to it would be to update the firmware on it.

    What are you looking to do with it, then we can help you some more?

    for now i want to control my heaters and i got the pH probe to one day control a cal reactor.

    You will want to hook your lights up to it too then set an alarm so if the tank gets too hot the lights shut off until it reaches a temp you set to come back on, thats an easy one. As well as heaters you can hook a fan up to it too so it maintains an even temperature. The possibilities are almost endless.
    If you got the pH probe which module did you get to hook it to, the SL-1 or SL-2? Either module also has switched contacts so you can hook up an autotopoff system real easy.

    Make sure you update everything before hooking it up, could save some grief just invade everythings not up to date...

    Yes. They have very easy to follow directions on their forum I linked to plus the manual has some too.

    just got home and was looking at my RKL and there is no where to plug in the pH probe and there is no calibration fluid? whats up with TB Aquatics?

    The pH probe must have a SL-1 or SL-2 module to attach it to. Only the iTemp probe and external modules plug in to the head unit.
    Did you order the Digital Aquatics pH probe or a different one? I know my DA pH probe came with packets of calibration fluidin the package.
